"The High 5 is our no nonsense, performance driven offering for riders who don't want to compromise. For this season we've stripped the High 5 back and rebuilt it with the same geometry but a new construction. Like a performance tune for your car, this has propelled the High 5 to another level.
The High 5 stays true to the roots of snowboarding, boasting a full traditional camber profile. Traditional camber has and always will pack a punch that's tough to rival. Offering precision and response in a lively and snappy package, this keeps the board powerful and stable allowing you to charge harder. At the heart of the High 5 is our Poplar and Paulownia blended wood core which has been specially selected for its lightweight yet strong properties. This produces a powerful, precise and balanced ride with a consistent and predictable flex pattern. A brand new carbon layup sees 2 parallel beams run full tip to tail keep the power throughout the entire length of the board.
New for 1819 is our redesigned Smoothride Sidewall. This builds upon our original award winning technology and helps reduce our overall impact on the environment. A more efficient manufacturing process cuts waste without sacrificing the impact and vibration absorbing properties, helping to provide the smoothest ride possible. Fibreglass layups are also enhanced through the use of tri-axial glass that includes a pre-cured layer above the core for more response and torsional rigidity without adding weight. And of course it's all finished off with the Channel mounting system for infinite stance adjustment.
The graphic inspiration for the High 5 is taken from our weekend pilgrimage from Vancouver to Whistler. A topographical map has been painstakingly hand drawn to scale showing the Sea to Sky corridor. Displayed in full gloss, this is then screen printed with a matte black fade over the nose and tail and finished with a touchable, textured screen print showing the route that we take from our office in the city to the base of the village gondola in Whistler. Exact GPS coordinates ensure accuracy."
